Of the Municipal Corporation of the Township of Pickering for
the formation of a Physieal Fitness end Recreation Committee for the
Township of Pickering.
WHEREAS the East Woodlands Community have during the past year
built and operated a community hall snd provided educational classes
in community work each night and have operated a swimming pool with
a paid instructor.
AND WHEREAS Picketing Village ere contemplating building a
community hall which will become an active community centre for
instruction.
AND ~HEREAS the Province of Ontario did on October 20, 1945,
publish ~egulations 0. Reg. 77/1945 Physical Fitness and ~ecreation
whereby certain grants are payable to community centres giving regu-
lar instruction in mind and body.
AND V~EREAS this coUncil believes that the East Woodlands
Community comply with the Act and sro therefore eligible for such
grants:
AND ~¥HEREAS the Act provides th~ ~ouncil shall appoint a
Township Committee to co-ordinate all activities within the Township
for regular instruction before grsnts will be paid:
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Town-
ship of P~ckering:
(1) that s Physical Fitness and ~ecreation plan under Ontario
Statute 0. ~eg. 77/45 be set up in the ~ownshlp of Pickering.
(2) that the members of said Committee shall be
