HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1713B Y - L A W N U M B E R ..1 7 ~.3 A BY-LAW FOR STOPPING UP AND SALE OF A PAR~-OF-A CERTAIN ROAD ALLOWANCE IN THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING. WHEREAS the original road allowance for a Township road between Lots 24 - 25 in the Sixth Concession of the Township of Picketing has been unused for many years and is not required for road purposes and it is deemed expedient %hat i% should be stopped up and closed as a public highway; AND ~[EREA~ Notices of Intention to close said road allowance have appeared in the local newspaper for four consecutive weeks immediately prior to the passing of this By-law; AND ~IEREAS no person or persons have appeared before this Council re~isterin~ disapproval to the closing of said road allowance; BE IT ~IER~FOR~E ENACTEp by the Municipal Council of the Township of Picketing: (1) That the sideline between Lots 24-25 in the Sixth Concession of the Township of Picketing be and the same is hereby stopped up and closed as a public highway and is hereby declared to be no lon~.~er a public highway; (~) When this By-Law shall have been duly confirmed and approved~ the said original allowance for road shall be sold in a manner (3) as directed and required by law and for a price satisfactory to the Council of the Corporation, thereof shall be deeded to the purchaser. This By-Law shall come into force and take effect aft,~r ~t shall have be~n confirmed by the Council Corporation oC the County of Ontario and received the of the Department of Righways. that shall be and on sale at once of %he approval PA~SED this llth day of March, 1947.
