N U M B E_R I 5 9 I OF THE CORPOBATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING To adopt an agreement between certain landowners in a subdivision known as Woodlands Annex and registered as Plan No; 346. WHEREAS on or about the 22nd day of May, 1941, the Council of the said Co~poration of the Township of Picketing entered into a tentative agreement with certain of the landowners in the aforesaid subdivision in the Township of Picketing which is known by the name of "Woodlands Annex", and a Plan whereof is registered in the Registry Office for the County of Ontario under No. 346; AND WHEREAS the said subdivision consists of that portion of Township Lot No. 31 in the third range of the broken front concession of the said Township of Picketing; AND WHEBEAS the said Agreement has now been signed by more than 759 of the land owners having lands bordering on the said Old Forest Road, or gaining access to their respective lands in part over the said road, and is satis- factory to the Council of the said Corporation of the Township of Picketing and the said Council has agreed that such Agreement should be no executed for and on behalf of the said Corporation; AND .WH__EHEAS the said Agreement with said landowners provided that sixty per cent of the cost of the improvements to be made to the said Old Forest Road shall be borne and paid by the landowners in said subdivision who executed the said Agreement in three equal annual payments in the years 1941, 1942 and 1943; AND WHEREAS the said Agreement had not in 1941 been signed by a sufficient n~ber of ].andowners in said subdivision, so that no part of the cost or final cost of the improvements to be made to the said road could not then be accurately estimated, so that no part of the cost of work thereon was collected or paid in the year 1941; AND ~HEREAS it seems fair that the sixty per cent of the improvements made or to be made and completed on said Road should now be paid by the said ratepayers executing such agreement; AND WHEREA_~S it is expedient and necessary that the said Agreement should now be accepted by the said Corporation as a legal and binding agreement; BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Council of the Municipal Corporation of the Township of Picketing: THAT the aforesaid Agreement, as set forth in Schedule A hereto be and the same is hereby adopted as, for and on behalf of the Corporation of the Township of Picketing, and the Reeve and Clerk are hereby directed to execute the same and affix the seal of the Corporation thereto. THAT sixty per cent of the cost of the improvements made by the said Corporation to the Old Forest Road, hereinbefore referred to, be and the same are hereby charges upon the lands of the owners of the lands in the aforesaid Subdivision known as Woodlands Annex (a Plan whereof being registered in the Registry Office for the County of Ontario Under No. 346) who have signed the said Agreement, in equal parts or shares, one-half o£ the said 60 per cent in the year 1942 and one-half thereof in the year 1943, and that said amounts shall be added to the Tax Rolls for the said years and collected with other taxes which may be rated against the said lands respectively. THAT forty per cent of the cost of the improvements made and to be made to the aforesaid Old Forest Road shall be met and paid from the general levies for township purposes in the said years 1942 and 1943.
