By-law to amend By-law No. 1!~$3 of the Munici pal Corporation
of the Township of Picketing entitled "A By-law for licensing,
regulating and governing hawkers, pedlars and petty chapmen and
persons carrying on petty trades in the Township of Pickering", as
the said By-law has been amsnded by By-law 74o. 1~61 of the said
5~unicipal Corporation.
THe ~'~unicipal Council of the Corporation of the Township
o? Picketing ENACTS AS F'CLLOWS :
That Section 3 of the said By-law No.1,~43 as amended by the
said By-law No. 1!$6] be' hereby repealed and the following ~nacted
and substituted in place thereof, th~ is to say :-
''The sums to be paid for such licenses for the ,v~ole of the
Township of Pickering shall be as follows :-
"Every person travelling on foot the sum of ~10.O0.
"Every person trsvelling ,ith an animal bearing or
drawing a burden, the sum of
and for every extra animal
"Every person travelllnZ
the sum of .
· . ¢2o.oo
additional ~u~ of.
by motor car or truck
· . 5o.0o
"Every person tradin~ with a boat or other watercraft
and exposing for sale goods, wares or merchandise, for each
such boat or craft, the sum of
"Provided, however, that in the case of an applicant
for such license being a person ~ho has resided continuously
within the Township of Pickering for at least six months prior to
his application for such license and satisfies the Reeve or Council
of the ~unicipality that he has not taken up residence temporarily
for the purpose of securing the license desired at a lower rate,
then the license fees as noted above shall be reduced and abated
to the extent of ninety-percent

of the Township of Pickering entitled "A By-law for licensing,
regulating and ~overnfng hawkers, pedlars and petty chapmen and
persons ca~rylng on petty trades in the Township of Pickering", as
the said By-law has been amended by By-law I~o. 1461 of the said
~unicipal Corporation.
The ~nicipal Council of the Corporation of the Towns~,lp
of Pickering ENACTS AS F~LLOW~ :
That Section 3 of the said By-law No.14~ as amended by the
· a~d By-law No. 1461 be hePeby repealed and the following whetted
and substituted in place thereof, that is to say :-
''The sums to be paid for such licenses for the whole of the
Township of Picketing shall be as follows :-
''Every pemson travelling on foot the s~ of $10.00.
"Every person travelling with an animml bearing ~
drawing a b~den, t~e s~ of .... $20.00
and fop every extra animal the additional sum cf. $5.00
"Every ~rson travellinz by motor ca~ or t~uck
the s~ of ........ $50.00
"Eve~ ~rson t~ding with a boat om other watemc~a~t
and e~osing for ~ale goods, wares or ~mchandise, for each
such boat or cr~Ft, the sum oF . .~50.00
"P~ovided, however, that in the case oF an applicant
