HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1466B Y- L A W N U M B E R 1 4 6 6 Of The Corporation of the Township of Pickering A BY-LAW TO CLOSE THE NORTH HALF OF THE ORIGINAL ALLOWANCE FOR ROAD BETWEEN LOTS NUMBERS 14 AND 15 IN THE FIFTH CONCESSION OF THE SAID TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING AS A PUBLIC HIGHWAY AND TO AUTHORIZE THE SALE THEREOF. WHEREAS the south half of the said original allowance for road was closed as a public highway by By-Law No. 800 of the said Corporation of the Township of Pickering; AND WHEREAS the greater part of the said north half of original allow- ance for road is hilly and it would be very expensive to make a passable road upon it, the road is not needed, and no person will be inconven- ienced by its being closed; AND WHEREAS John F. Soden owns all the lands on both sides of the said north half of allowance for road and has agreed with the said Corporation to purchase the said portion of original allowance for road, providing it be first closed as a public highway; AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient that the said portion of original allowance for road be closed as a public highway and sold; BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Council of the Municipal Corporation of the Township of Pickering: 1. THAT the north half of the original allowance for road between Lots Numbers fourteen and fifteen in the Fifth Concession of the Township of Pickering is hereby stopped up and closed as a public highway and its sale hB reby authorized. 2. THAT this By-Law shall come into force and take effect at once after it shall be confirmed by the corporation of the County of Ontario. PASSED September 1st, 1936. "Donald R.
