HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1448B Y- L A W N U M B E R 1 4 4 8 TO PROVIDE FOR A SPECIAL LEVY ON CERTAIN LANDS ON LOT NO. 34 IN THE FIRST CONCESSION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING, SUBDIVIDED INTO LOTS IN ACCORD- ANCE WITH REGISTERED PLANS NOS. 282 AND 329 AND KNOWN AS TAITWOOD SUB- DIVISION. WHEREAS by petition the owners of the Greenwood Avenues, as delineated upon asked the Corporation of the Township improvements upon the said Woodview A limit of the said Township Lot No. 34 said Greenwood Avenue; lands bordering upon Woodview and the said registered Plans, having of Pickering to create certain venue, extending from the Southerly in a Northerly direction to the AND WHEREAS the said Corporation, having agreed to create such improvements upon the term set forth in a certain Agreement dated the day of October, 1934, which has been duly executed by the said owners and by the said Corporation, (and a copy of which Agreement is appended hereto as "Exhibit A"), has had the improvements referred to duly made to the said road, at a total cost of $400.00, of which in pursuance of said Agreement, the said Corporation is to provide forty per cent from its general funds, and sixty per cent thereof is to be borne and paid by the subscribing owners, in two special levies on the lands of the said owners; BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Township of Pickering: 1. THAT the aforesaid Agreement be hereby confirmed and adopted as part of this By-Law. 2. THAT the sum of $240.00, being sixty per cent of the total cost of the improvements made to the said road as aforesaid, be raised, levied and collected in two special levies of equal amounts, one thereof in each of the years 1935 and 1936, from and upon the lands of several owners who have subscribed their names to the said Agree- ment, each such owners being rated for and paying a proportionate amount thereof in each of said years according to the foot frontage of his or her lands respectively on the said roads or avenues.
