A By-law to regulate the operating of Bowling Alleys
in the Township of Pickering.
WHEREAS The Corporation of the Township of Pickering
has pursuant to The Municipal Act,Section 401, paragraph 6, authority
to enact this By-law.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Township of Pickering
hereby enacts as follows;
1. All persons who operate for gain in the Township of Pickering any
Bowling Alley must first secure a license for same before commencing
business.
2. The fees for such license shall be $5.00 per year per alley and
shall be secured from the Treasurer or Municipal Law Enforcement
Officer after approval has been granted by the Township Council,
and such license shall expire December 31st in each year.
3. Such license may be suspended by Council on the recommendation of
the Police Chief on grounds that operator fails to keep an orderly
place of business,
4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this By-law shall be
subject to a fine not exceeding $300.00 and costs by the Convicting
Magistrate, recoverable under the Summary Convictions Act.
5. All By-laws contrary to or inconsistent with this By-law be and the
same are hereby repealed.
