A By-law to authorize the signing of
an agreement between the Township of
Pickering and the Town of Ajax.
WHEREAS the Township has entered into an agreement with the
Corporation of Metropolitan Toronto for the use of a sanitary
landfill site for the purpose of receiving, dumping and dis-
posing of wastes within the confines of a landfill operation
carried on by the said Corporation of Metropolitan Toronto;
AND WHEREAS Pickering has permission from the Corporation of
Metropolitan Toronto to dump wastes in the said sanitary land-
fill operation in excess of its present requirements and has
agreed to permit the Town to dump its waste material in the
said sanitary landfill location by using part of the Township's
quota therein, which the Town has agreed to do;
AND WHEREAS the Township is desirous of obtaining a supply of
Municipal water for its ratepayers from the plants and mains
owned by the Town to portions of the Township adjacent to the
Town and adjacent to the Village of Pickering;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED that the Reeve and Clerk be authorized
to execute said agreement.
