HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 3972/71THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER 3 A By-law of the Corporation of the Township of Pickering to agree not to lodge an objection to the abandoning by the Canadian National Railways of the Spur Line into the Village of Pickering. WHEREAS the Department of Highways of Ontario has found it desirable to remove the C.N.R. Spur Line across the MacDonald Cartier Freeway to eliminate a level crossing, and WHEREAS the Department of Highways of Ontario has agreed to subsidize the construction of a new spur line into the Township industrial area to the extent of $100,000.00, and WHEREAS the Canadian National Railways will make application to the Canadian Transport Commission for the abandonment of said siding; and WHEREAS the Corporation of the Township of Pickering is agreeable to the alternate to the present rail siding; BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Council of the Township of Pickering submit that the Township does not have any objection to the Railway abandoning this facility.
