THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING {?cJ

being a by-law to authorize an ?' / p78
application to the Ontario
Municipal Board for an order
enlarging the defined garbage
area in the Township of
Pickering.
WHEREAS By-law 2141 of the Corporation of the Township
of Pickering passed on the 27th day of February, 19562 provided
for the creation of a defined area in the south part of the
Township of Pickering for the collection, removal and disposal
of garbage, ashes and other refuse to be carried out by the
said Township, the expenses of such collection, removal and
disposal to be defrayed by imposing a special mill rate upon
all land within the said garbage area;
AND WHEREAS By-laws 2054 and 3073 provided for the
addition of certain lands to the said defined area;
AND WHEREAS considerable development has taken place
around the existing garbage area and owners of certain lands
abutting on the said garbage area have requested that their
lands be included in the garbage area;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Township of Pickering
intends to apply to the Ontario Municipal Board for an order
enlarging the present garbage area pursuant to the provisions
of section 15 of The Municipal Act, R.S.0.1960.
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE
TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That an application be made to the Ontario Municipal
Board fox an order enlarging the garbage area defined in
By-law 2141 as amended by By-laws 2054 and 3073, by adding
thereto the lands described in Schedule "A" annexed to the
by-law and made part hereof, such order to provide that the
said lands to be included in such enlarged area shall be
subject to the provisions of By-law 2141 and shall share the

costs of collection, removal and disposal of garbage, ashes and
other refuse, such costs to be defrayed by a special mill rate
imposed on the lands in the defined area as enlarged.

Schedule "A"
ALL AND SINGULAR those certain parcels or tracts of
land and premises situate lying and being in the Township of
Pickering in the County of Ontario and being composed of:
FIRSTLY
All those lands in Ranges 2 and 3 and in Concessions
1 and 2 of the said Township not included within the existing
defined garbage area so that the defined garbage area will include
all that part of the Township of Pickering lying south of the
Third Concession Road;
SECONDLY
Those lands in Concession 3 of the Township of
Pickering described as follows:
The south half of Lot 1; the south 680 feet of the east
half of Lot 2; that part of the west half of Lot 2 lying south
of the south limit of the Canadian Pacific Railway right-of-way;
the south quarter of Lot 6; the south 630 feet of Lot 7; the
south 658 feet of Lot 8; the south half of Lot 9; the south
1090.5 feet of the east 519 feet of Lot 12; the south 459 feet
of Lot 13; the south 250 feet of the east 180 feet of Lot 17;
the southerly 2250 feet of the westerly 935 feet of Lot 26; the
south half of Lot 27; the south 636 feet of Lot 28; the south
half of the east half of Lot 29; the south 300 feet of the west
220 feet of Lot 30; and the south 606 feet of Lot 31;
being the properties having driveway access to the
Third Concession Road;
The said firstly and secondly described lands are
shown on a plan filed in the office of the Clerk of the Township
of Pickering which plan is entitled "Defined Garbage Area as
enlarged in 1971."
