HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 3943/71THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER Being a by-law to authorize the enlargement and improvement of the Bay Road Sewage Treatment Plant. WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to enlarge and improve the Bay Road Sewage Treatment Plant by the addition of two new primary clarifiers, two aeration tanks, two secondary clarifiers and mechanical and electrical equipment and the refurbishing of the existing plant at an estimated cost of $575,000.00 of which sum, $400,000.00 would be financed by way of debentures. AND WHEREAS by Order of the Ontario Municipal Board dated the 5th day of January 1972, the Corporation was authorized to proceed with the said undertaking and to pass a by-law authorizing same and all other requisite by-laws including by-laws providing for the issue of debentures. NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MHERING by a three-fourths vote of all members of the said Council enacts as follows:- 1. That the said Bay Road sewage treatment plant be enlarged and improved by the addition of two new primary clarifiers, two aeration tanks, two secondary clarifiers and mechanical and electrical equipment and the refurbishing of the existing plant at an estimated cost of $575,000-00- 2. There shall be borrowed by the issuing of debentures repay- able over a period of 20 years for the purposes set out in clause 1 the sum of *!00,000.00 which sum shall be a charge against all the rateable property in the Township of Pickering. 3. The Treasurer of the Township may, subject to the appreval of Council and as provided in Order of the Board,4orrow the whole of any part of the said sum of $575,000.00 as required pending receipt of subsidies and the sale of debentures, or the receipt of moneys from any other source. -2- The Engineer of the Corporation is hereby authorized to make such plans, profiles and specifications and furnish such information as may be necessary for the making of contracts for the doing of the said work or for carrying out the same by day labour and the work shall be carried on and executed under the superintendence and according to the directions and orders of the said Engineer.
