HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 4440/73THE CORPORATION OF THE TOUNSHIP OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER ,f r j 3 Designating Through Highways WHEREAS clause 33 of subsection 1 of Section 1 of the Hi.,^,hway Traffic Act (R.S.O. 1970, Chapter 202) provides that:- "through highway' means a highway or part of a highway desi^nated as such by the Minister or by by-law of a municipality approved by the Department, and every such highway shall be marked by a stop sign or yield right-of-way sign in compliance with the regulations of the Department" NOW THEILFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Pickering enacts as follows: - 1. The following highways or parts of highways under the jurisdiction of the Township of Pickering are designated as through highways: - Highway From To Rouge Highlands Drive 50 ft.N. of Fan'-are Ave. North Limit 2. The designation in section 1 of this by-law of a highway or part of a highway as a through highway shall not include any intersection thereon where the road inter- section is a King's Hi;thway or where traf,""_ic control signals are installed. 3. The penalties provided in section 88A of The Highway Traffic Act shall apply to offences against this by-law. 4. This by-law shall not become effective until approved by the Department of Transport.
