THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING
Being a By-law to establish a
Community Centre in the
Township of Pickering
WHEREAS provision is made for the establishment of a Community
Centre in Ontario under the Community Centres Act R.S.O. 1970
Chapter 73 Section 4 (1).
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Township of Pickering deem it
desirable to establish a Community Centre in part of Lot 29
B.F. Range 3 of the Township of Pickering.
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Township of Pickering have entered
into an agreement with the Ontario County Board of Education in
co-operating in the construction and maintenance of a swimming
pool to be located on the Dunbarton High School site.
AND WHEREAS the School Board has vested title of sufficient
land in the Township to provide a site for the swimming;
pool building adjacent to the Dunbarton High School.
THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Township of Pickering enacts
as follows;
(1) That a Community Centre defined as a Swimming Pool
under the Community Centres Act, R.S.O. 1970 and
regulations thereunder be established in part
Lot 29 B.F.R. 3 of the Township of Pickering
and that said Swimming Pool be administered
by the Council of the Township of Pickering
(2) That the Community Centre Swimming Pool shall be
maintained by the Council in conformity with the
Act and Regulations made thereunder.
(3) That the said Swimming Pool will be called the
Dunbarton Indoor Pool.
By-Law read a First, Second and Third time and passed in
open Council.
