HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 4124/72THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERTNG BY-LAW NUMRF;R being a Hy-law to authorize the issuance of permits for th- operation of heavy vehicles, loads, objects or structures in excess of prescribed limits, WHEREAS Sections 611 and 70 and Part VIT of The Hi vhti ny Traffic Aot, R.S.O. 1070 c.'?O? as amended prescribe limits in respect, to the moving of vehicles over highways with respect to loads, dimensions and axle weights. AND WHEREAS Section 65 of the sa;d Hi1,hwa,* Traffic Ac.t, provides that a municipal corporation may permit, in re-noct to any hi.phway over -Thich it has Jurisdiction, thr movin- of vehicl-s tbr?renr not conforming to the said prescribed limits. AND WHE:R?FAS, pursuant to sni.l Section 6K The Cornoration of the Township of Pickering deems it expedient, to nrovide a procedure for the i_ssui.na of such permits. NOW THE'RE'FOR! BE IT ENACTED BY THh' CORPORATION OF THtW TOWNSHIP OF PICKE'RTNG THAT:- T. Any parson desiring to move a vehicle upon a highway under the jurisdiction of the Township of Pickerin-, in excess of the limits prescribed by Sections nip or 7O nr Part VTT of Th, Hi?h!ay T-affic Act, R.S.O. t9?O and amendments, shall anply in writing on the prescribed application forms to The Corporation of the To^nship of Pickering at the office of the To-nshin Enoj neer for a permit to On so. ?_. The Cnrporation of the Tolmship of Pickering ma_v issue n nermit to the annl.icant to nnera+n his vehicle on the said highways under Toimshin jurisdiction, and the r)rrmit, may be goneral. in its terms or may be. 1 imited or conditional . The permit may imnose onnditi_ons relating to the protection of nereons or property from Iniury and may reeuire the applicant to post a bond to cover the coot of renairinm any poesible damage to the hi.irhway in an amount as estimated by the Tnwnshin Fnmi_neer and to pay the cost of any inspection, by the Townshin. i. The Townshin ;!hrei_noer is horebv anthorizod to issue the permit applied for under the terms of this By-lair upon being satisfied that the applicant has comoli-ri or will_ c,?mnlp ?.!ith all provi.sinns of this By-lair and special cnnritions (if any) 1-hat hsve beer imposed. )4.
