Budget Meeting Minutes
Thursday, February 27, 2003

A meeting of the Committee of the Whole of the Council of The Corporation of the
City of Pickering was held on February 27th, 2003, at 9:00 am in the Main Committee
Room to consider the Proposed 2003 Budget.

The Mayor opened the meeting with comments from the Chief Administrative Officer and a
presentation given by the Director, Corporate Services & Treasurer summarizing the
proposed 2003 Current and Capital Budgets.
DEPARTMENTAL CURRENT BUDGETS
Moved by Councillor Holland that the Proposed 2003 Current Budget be approved with the
following amendments:

Council considered the following motions in conjunction with the above motion:

Moved by Councillor Pickles that Account 2743 (LACAC) be increased to $2,000.00.
LOST
Chief Administrative Officer commented that the Committee would not be active in 2003, If
the Committee somehow became active, the Chief Administrative Officer would review
whatever Budget would be required.
DEPARTMENTAL CAPITAL BUDGETS
Moved by Councillor Holland that the Proposed 2003 Capital Budget be approved with the
following amendments:

Council considered the following motions in conjunction with the above motion:

Moved by Councillor McLean that Account 2744 (Museum) be increased by $25,000.
REFERRED TO CHIEF
ADMINISTRATIVE
OFFICER FOR FURTHER
INFORMATION
Council considered the following motions in conjunction with the above motion:
Moved by Councillor Holland that Account 2744 (Museum) be referred to Chief
Administrative Officer for further information.
CARRIED
CAPITAL BUDGET
Moved by Mayor Arthurs that the Proposed 2003 Capital Budget be approved.

GENERAL GOVERNMENT
Moved by Councillor Ryan that the General Government Accounts be approved.
CARRIED
AJAX PICKERING TRANSIT AUTHORITY
Moved by Councillor Brenner that the Ajax Pickering Transit Authority budget be approved.
CARRIED
Moved by Councillor Holland that the 2003 Budget be referred to Council for the March
1ih, Council meeting.
Council congratulated the Chief Administrative Officer, Director, Corporate Services &
Treasurer and Staff on an excellent budget presentation.
The meeting adjourned at 12:00 pm.
