bRPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING
BY-LAW NUMBER r*I 7
Being a by-law to authorize an
application to the Ontario Municipal
Board for an Order enlarging the
defined water area in the Town of
Pickering.
WHEREAS by By-Law 2490 of the Corporation of the Township
of Pickering, to which the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering is successor, Water Area #1 was established and
defined;
AND WHEREAS by By-Laws 2943, 3190, and 4038/71 of the
Corporation of the Township of Pickering, said Water Area
#1 was enlarged from time to time by these by-laws;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed necessary to enlarge said defined
Water Area by adding thereto a Water Area #2 and also
to amend said Water Area #1 to reflect the new boundaries
of the Town of Pickering created by The Regional Municipality
of Durham Act, 1973;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Pickering intends
to apply to the Ontario Municipal Board for an Order
enlarging the present Water Area pursuant to the provisions
of Section 15 of The Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1970;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The defined Water Area of the Town of Pickering is
hereby enlarged by adding thereto Area #2 comprised
of those lands in the said Town described as follows:
All the lands north of the road allowance between
Concession 1 and Concession 2 lying between Resebank
Road on the West and the Town of Ajax on the east,
south of the Ontario Hydro Transmission Corridor
known as the Gatineau Power Line, excepting the
lands already included in Water Area #1 as described
by By-law 4038/71.
2. Defined Water Area #1 of the Town of
hereby amended by deleting therefrom
which by the provisions of the Regioi
of Durham Act, 1973, were annexed to
Scarborough in the West and the Town

more particularly shown on the sketch plan annexed hereto
as Schedule "A" and forming a part of this By-Law.
