HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 96/74THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER 16 f ,1{ Designating Through Highways WHEREAS clause 33 of subsection 1 of Section 1 of the Highway Traffic Act (R.S.O. 1970, Chapter 202) provides that: "through highway' means a highway or part of a highway designated as such by the Minister or by by-law of a municipality approved by the Ministry and every such highway shall be marked by a stop sign or yield right-of-way sign in compliance with the regulations of the Ministry" NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering enacts as follows: 1. 2. 3. 4 The following highways or parts of highways under the jurisdiction of the Town of Pickering are designated as through highways: Highway From To Concession Three The west side of The west side of Brock Road Valley Farm Road The designation in section 1 of this by-law of a highway or part of a highway as a through highway shall not include any intersection thereon where the road intersection is a King's Highway or where traffic control signals are installed. The penalties provided in section 152 of the Highway Traffic Act shall apply to offences against this by-law. This by-law shall not become effective until approved by the Ministry of Transport.
