HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 90/74THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER 90114 Being a by-law to amend By-Law #56/74 of the Town of Pickering, for the licensing, regulating and governing of owners and drivers of taxicabs and other motor vehicles for hire and establishing the rates or fares to be charged by the owners or drivers of cabs and livery cabs for the conveyance of passengers within the Town of Pickering. BE IT ENACTED that Schedule One attached to and forming part of By-Law #56/74 is hereby repealed and is hereby replaced by Schedule One attached to and forming part of this by-law. Mayor ' vJWYiL(Ji.i?6i!.( Clerk THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING SCHEDULE ONE FORMING PART OF BY-LAW NUMBER C70 1 74 PART ONE: By Distance One to Four Passengers: For the first quarter mile or part thereof .................. $ .60 For each additional fifth of a mile or part thereof......... .10 For waiting time while under engagement, for each minute.... .10 For each additional passenger in excess of four ............. .20 Baggage (other than shopping or grocery bags) For each trunk (32 inches by 18 inches by 9 inches or 3 cu. ft.)........ .50 Hand baggage if not carried by passenger inside vehicle per parcel........ .10 Brief cases and parcels of comparable size shall not be considered as hand baggage. Bags and cartons containing groceries (if loaded and unloaded by driver) per bag .............. .10 Up to a maximum of 30 cents. Wheel chairs will be carried Free. PART TWO: By the Hour For the first hour or part thereof .......................... $4.00 For each additional fifteen (15) minutes .................... 1.00 For each passenger in excess of four - per hour ............. .75 Baggage (other than shopping or grocery bags): For each trunk (32 inches by 18 inches by 9 inches or 3 cu. ft.......... .50 Hand baggage if not carried by passengers inside vehicle per parcel ............. .10 Brief cases and parcels of comparable size shall not be considered as hand baggage Bags and cartons containing groceries (if loaded and unloaded by driver) per bag ............ .10 Up to maximum of 30 cents.
