Being a by-law to confirm the
salaries of the Mayor and council
for the year 1974.
WHEREAS by Resolution #17/74 the Council of the Town of
Pickering established salaries for Council members and
the Mayor for the year 1974;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient by the Council of the
Town of Pickering that a by-law be passed confirming same;
AND WHEREAS by Sections 211 and 389 of The Municipal Act,
R.S.O. 1970, as amended, by-laws may be passed for paying
such annual allowance as Council may determine;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED AND IT IS HEREBY ENACTED that
the 1974 annual allowance be composed of $12,000.00 per
annum for the Mayor and $5,000.00 per annum for Council
members and the sum of 154 per mile for Council meetings
and Committees of Council.
