BY-LAW NUMBER 7j
Being a by-law to authorize the
purchase of part of Lot 20,
Concession 3, in the Town of
Pickering, as a Works/Transit
Centre site and the borrowing
of $105,000.00 in payment
thereof.
WHEREAS it is deemed advisable to purchase the lands hereinafter
described from the Ministry of Housing as a Works/Transit
Centre site;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient for the purpose of purchas-
ing the said lands to borrow a sum not exceeding the sum of
$105,000.00;
AND WHEREAS the total cost of the purchase of the Works/Transit
Centre site will be levied by an annual rate against all the
rateable property in the Town of Pickering over a period of
20 years;
AND WHEREAS application has been made to the Council of the
Regional Municipality of Durham to borrow said sum and to
issue debentures therefor;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The purchase of that part of Lot 20, concession 3, described
in Schedule "A" hereto annexed be and the same is hereby
authorized.
2. That there shall be borrowed for the purpose set out in
Clause 1 the sum of $105,000.00 which sum shall be a
charge against all the rateable property in the Town of
Pickering.

3. That the special rate to pay for the said Works/
Transit Centre site shall be paid in 20 annual
instalments.

ALL AND SINGULAR that certain parcel or tract of land
and premises situate, lying and being in the Town of
Pickering, in the Regional Municipality of Durham, and
being composed of Part 2 according to a plan filed in
the Registry Office for the Registry Division of Whitby
(No. 40), as No. 40R-2208.
