Being a by-law to authorize the construction
of a Public Library from Reserve Fund at an
estimated cost of $211,000.00
WHEREAS it is desirable that a Public Library for the
Bay Ridges area of the Town of Pickering be constructed for the
educational and cultural need of the residents;
AND WHEREAS the cost of construction of the Public
Library is estimated at $211,000.00;
AND WHEREAS the authority for the erection of the building
or buildings necessary therefor is found in section 336(1) of The
Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1970, as amended;
AND WHEREAS by Resolution Number the Council of
the Corporation of the Town of Pickering has resolved that the
construction of a Library attached to the Bay Ridges Community Centre
be financed from funds obtained from "Reserve Fund for Community
Facilities Development" (GL 4225);
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN
OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The financing of the construction of the Public Library
is hereby authorized to be made out of the "Reserve Fund
for Community Facilities Development" (GL 4225), and the
Treasurer is hereby directed to take the appropriate steps
necessary to do so.
2. By-laws numbered 329/75 and 330/75 are hereby repealed.
