BY-LAW NO. 919/78
Being a by-law to provide for the estab-
lishment, maintenance and operation of
certain community recreation centres
within the Town of Pickering
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of subsection 1 of
section 2 of The Community Recreation Centres Act, 1974, S.O.
1974, c.80, the council of a municipality may, by by-law,
provide for the establishment, maintenance and operation of
one or more community recreation centres in accordance with
that Act; and
WHEREAS, on the 3rd day of April, 1978, the Council of
the Corporation of the Town of Pickering enacted By-Law 787/78,
providing, inter alia, for the establishment, maintenance and
operation of certain community recreation centres named therein;
and
WHEREAS, it is now deemed appropriate to make certain
changes and additions to the list of community recreation
centres set out in By-Law 787/78;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town
of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The facilities more particularly described in Schedule
"A" hereto are hereby established as community recrea-
tion centres to be maintained and operated in accord-
ance with the provisions of The Community Recreation
Centres Act, 1974.
2. A committee known as the Community Recreation Centres
Board of the Town of Pickering shall be appointed by
by-law from time to time for the management and control
of the said community recreation centres.
3. By-Law 787/78 is hereby repealed.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed
this 18th day of December, 1978.
