BY-LAW NO. 772/78
Being a By-Law to provide for the
participation of the Town of Pickering
Fire Department in the
Regional Mutual Fire Aid System
WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of paragraph 1 of section
352 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1970, chapter 284, as amended,
the Council of a Municipality may pass By-Laws, inter alia, for
entering into agreement with any other Municipality for the use
of fire-fighting equipment;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town
of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Pickering Fire Department is hereby authorized to
leave the limits of the Municipality at the discretion
of the Chief and under the direction of the Regional
Fire Co-Ordinator, to respond to calls for assistance
from other Municipal Fire Departments authorized to
participate in the Regional Mutual Fire Aid System or
any other Regional, District or County System on a
reciprocal basis.
2. In the event that the provisions of this By-Law con-
flict with the provisions of any other By-Law, the
provisions of this By-Law shall prevail.
3. By-Law No. 3227 is hereby repealed.
