HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 951/79THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NO. 951/79 Being a by-law to adopt the 1979 estimates of all sums required during the year for the purposes of the Municipality of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering, and to provide for the levying of the rates resulting therefrom. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of subsection 1 of section 307 of The Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1970, chapter 284, as amended, the Council of every Municipality shall, in each year, prepare and adopt estimates of all sums required dur- ing the year for the purposes of the Municipality; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of section 302 of the said Act, as amended, the Council of every local Munici- pality, in each year, shall levy a sum equal to the aggregate of the estimates referred to; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of subsection 3 of section 307 of the said Act, the Council may pass a by-law for levying such rates; NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. The estimates of all sums required during the year 1979, for the purposes of the Municipality of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering, as set out in Column 4 of Schedule "A" attached hereto, are hereby adopted. 2. There shall be levied from and upon the whole of the assessment for real property and business assessment, according to the last revised assess- ment roll, a sum equal to the general estimate adopted hereby, according to the rates set out in Columns 5 and 6 of Schedule "A" attached hereto, for the year 1979. 3. There shall be levied from and upon, (a) the whole of the assessment, according to the last revised assessment roll, for real property and business assessment within the approved Sanitation Area, and (b) the whole of the assessment, according to the last revised assessment roll, for real property and business assessment within the approved urban and Rural Street Lighting Area, TOWM OI PICKE?:i`: i 1..
