HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 931/79THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NO. 931/79 Being a by-law to request the Minister of housing to make an order under The Planning Act, section 29a, to validate the title to certain lands in Lot 10, Concession 5, Pickering. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of section 29a of The Planning Act, R.S.O. 1970, c.349, as amended by S.O. 1973, c. 168, the Minister of Housing may, by order, provide that the contravention before March 19th, 1973 of section 29 of the Act, or a predecessor thereof, does not have and shall be deemed never to have had the effect of preventing the conveyance or creation of any interest in the land described in the order; and WHEREAS no such order shall be made by the Minister unless the municipal council, by by-law, requests the Minister to do so; and WHEREAS Mr. John A. Townson and Mrs. Suzanne A. Townson have applied to the Town for such a by-law with respect to cer- tain lands in Lot 10, Concession 5, Pickering; NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. The Minister of Housing is hereby respectfully requested to make an order, pursuant to the provisions of subsec- tion 1 of section 29a of The Planning Act, thereby vali- dating the title of Mr. John A. Townson and Mrs. Suzanne A. Townson to those lands more particularly described as follows: All and singular that certain parcel or tract of land and premises situ- ate, lying and being in the Town of Pickering in the Regional Municipal- ity of Durham (formerly the Township of Pickering in the County of Ontario) and Province of Ontario and being composed of that part of Lot 10, Concession 5, described as fol- lows: Premising that the easterly limit of Westney Road, formerly called Green- wood Road, as established by By-Law 309 for the said former Township of Pickering registered in the Land Reg- istry Office for the Registry Divi- sion of Durham (No. 40) as Instrument Number 2415, has a bearing of north F},;`^:; r 19°01' 30" west and relating all bear- ings herein thereto; Beginning at a point distant north "i 70 54' east 33.66 feet from a point in the easterly limit of Westney i Road, which latter point is distant south 19°01'30" east 595.86 feet along the said easterly limit from -2- its point of intersection with the northerly limit of the said Lot 10, said point of intersection being distant 145.20 feet easterly along the said northerly limit from the north-westerly angle of the said Lot; Thence north 70054' east 501.70 feet; Thence south 19015'30" east 102.64 feet; Thence south 71048'40" west 502.87 feet; Thence north 19002' west 94.52 feet to the place of beginning. BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 8th day of January 1 1979.
