BY-LAW NO. 1079/80
Being a By-Law to designate a site plan
control area.

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of subsection 2 of
section 35a of The Planning Act, R.S.O. 1970, chapter 349, as
amended by The Planning Amendment Act, 1979, S.O. 1979, chapter
59, where there is an official plan in effect in a municipality,
the council may, by by-law, designate the whole or any part of
the area covered by the official plan as a site plan control
area; and
WHEREAS, the official plan of the Township (now Town)
of Pickering was adopted by the Council of the Corporation of
the Township (now Town) of Pickering on June 4th, 1962 and
approved by the Minister of Municipal Affairs on February
15th, 1963 and is as of the date of enactment of this By-Law
in effect in the whole of the Town of Pickering; and
WHEREAS, the Official Plan of the Regional Municipality
of Durham was adopted by the Council of the Regional Municipal-
ity of Durham on July 14th, 1976 and approved, in part, by the
Minister of Housing on March 17th, 1978 and is, as of the date
of this By-Law, in effect in part of the Town of Pickering; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed desirable to designate the whole
of the Town of Pickering as a site plan control area;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the
Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The whole of the area comprising the Corporation
of the Town of Pickering, as more particularly
described in clause d of subsection 1 of section
2 of the Regional Municipality of Durham Act,
1973, S.O. 1973, chapter 78, is hereby designated
as a site plan control area.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed
this 21st day of January , 1980.
