HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1313/81THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NO.1313 /81 Being a By-Law to stop up part of Twyn Rivers Drive and to authorize the sale of that part of the said road to abutting property owners WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of subsection 1 of section 443 of The Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1970, chapter 284, the council of any municipality may pass by-laws to stop up a highway or part thereof and to sell parts of stopped-up high- ways; and WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to stop up that part of Twyn Rivers Drive hereinafter described; and WHEREAS notice of this By-Law has been published once a week for four consecutive weeks and the provisions of The Municipal Act relating to the stopping-up of a highway have been com- plied with; NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. The lands described in Schedule "A" attached hereto are hereby stopped-up as a public highway. 2. The lands described in Schedule "A" attached hereto shall be offered for sale to the abutting property owners. 3. This By-Law shall not take effect until registered in the Registry Office for the Registry Division of Durham. BY-LAW read a first and second time this 6th day of July, 1981. CONVEYANCE OF ROAD WIDENINGS ON TWYN RIVERS DRIVE FILE NUMBER - E 4500 1 That the request of Mr. and Mrs. J. Spanger for the return of two road widenings taken from their property, representing 17' and 10', respectively, adjacent to Twyn Rivers Drive and described as Part of Lot 1, Registered Plan 282, be granted, subject to them assuming the cost of a Reference Plan to cover the recon- veyance, if required, and the assumption of any legal costs incurred by the Municipality in reconveying the lands.
