HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1291/81THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER 1291/81 Being a by-law to amend By-law 778/78 to regulate the construction of driveway entrances upon highways under the juris- diction of the Town of Pickering. WHEREAS By-law 778/78 was passed on April 3, 1978 to regulate the construction of driveway entrances upon highways under the jurisdiction of the Town of Pickering; and WHEREAS it is now deemed expedient to amend that By-law to provide for increased costs involved in the installation of driveway entrances; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS as follows: 1. Schedule "A" to By-law 778/78 is hereby revoked and Schedule I attached to this by-law is sub- stituted therefor. Driveway entrance, no culvert 2. Driveway entrance, 18 feet (5.5m) or less culvert, 15 inches (375mm) diameter (see Note 2) AMOUNT REQUIRED TO BE PAID Cost of construction and materials (see Note 1) $275.00 3. Driveway entrance, 19-50 $275.00 plus $15.00 per foot, feet (5.75-15.25m) culvert, for every foot in excess of 15 inches (375mm) diameter 18 feet, ($275.00 plus $49.20 (see Notes 2 and 3) per metre for every metre in excess of 5.5 metres) (see Note 2) 4. Driveway entrance, extension $15.00 per foot ($49.20 per of existing culvert metre) plus cost of couplers required - minimum charge $75.00 5. Driveway entrance, culvert other than as described in 2 and 3 required (see Note 2) Cost of construction and materials (see Note 1) Notes: 1. As estimated by the Director of Public Works of the Town. 2. Required in the sole opinion of the Director of Public Works of the Town. 3. Maximum permitted length of culvert at this amount is 50 feet (15.25m).
