HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1276/81THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER 1276/81 Being a by-law to amend By-law 851/78 providing for the regulating of parking, standing and stopping on highways or parts of highways under the jurisdiction of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering and on private and municipal property. WHEREAS By-law 851/78, as amended, provides for the regulating of parking, standing and stopping on highways or parts of high- ways under the jurisdiction of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering and on private and municipal property; and WHEREAS it is now deemed expedient to amend that by-law to increase the penalty from $10.00 to $25.00 for contravention of the provisions prohibiting the parking of any vehicle along any private roadway designated as a fire route; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS as follows: 1. (1) Clause (c) of subsection (6) of section 3 of By-law 851/78 is hereby revoked. (2) Section 3 of the said By-law is hereby amended by adding thereto the following subsection: (6a) No person shall park or leave any vehicle along any private roadway designated as a fire route. 2. (1) Subsection (1) of section 11 of the said By-law is hereby amended by adding thereto the following clause: (d) Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) for each offence, exclusive of costs, where the contravention is of the provisions of subsection (6a) of section 3 of this By-law; (2) Subsection (2) of section 11 of the said By-law is hereby amended by adding thereto the following clause: (d) Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) for each offence, exclusive of costs, where the contravention is of the provisions of subsection (6a) of section 3 of this By-law; BY-LAW READ a first, second and third time and finally PASSED this 6th day of April, 1981.
