BY-LAW NUMBER 1244/81
Being a by-law to amend By-law 741/77
to govern the construction and demoli-
tion of buildings and structures within
the Town of Pickering.
WHEREAS, By-law Number 741/77 enacted on December 19th
1977 governs the construction and demolition of
buildings and structures within the Town of Pickering
and establishes classes of permits and permit fees
for such construction and demolition; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed expedient to increase the fees
for building permits;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the
Town of Pickering hereby enacts as follows:
1. Section 1 of Schedule "A" to By-law 741/77
is hereby deleted and the following substituted
therefor:
1. BUILDING PERMIT FEES
(a) For construction of new buildings,
additions to buildings and renovations
to buildings, including roofing, a
fee of $6.00 for every $1,000.00,
or part thereof, of the cost or
valuation of the total proposed
work, but not less than $18.00;
(b) For moving or relocation of a
building or part thereof, a fee of
$6.00 for every $1,000.00, or part
thereof, of the Inspector's valuation
of the building, or part thereof,
after moving or relocation and work
associated therewith is completed,
but not less than $18.00.
BY-law read a first, second and third time and finally
passed this 16th day of February 1981.
