HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1426/82THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NO. 1426/82 Being a By-Law to alter the wards within the Town of Pickering WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of section 3(2) (b) Of the Regional Municipality of Durham Act, R.S.O. 1980, chapter 434, upon application of an area municipality authorized by a by-law of the council thereof, the Ontario Municipal Board may, by Order, alter any or all of the wards in the area municipality and shall declare the date when the alterations shall take effect; and WHEREAS on January 18th, 1982, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering passed Resolution 2/82, Item 1 of which adopted in principle an alteration of the wards within the Town of Pickering; and WHEREAS on January 25th, 1982, the Durham Board of Education passed a resolution concurring with the said altered ward boundaries; NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: The Town Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to apply to the Ontario Municipal Board, on behalf of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering, for an Order to alter the wards in the municipality from those presently existing to those the proposed boundaries of which are more particularly described in Schedule "A" hereto, which alteration is to take effect for the municipal elections to be held on November 8th, 1982 and for all subsequent municipal elections. BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 15th day of February, 1982. SCHEDULE "A" BY-LAW NO. 1426/82 WARD ONE The proposed boundaries of Ward One are described as follows: COMMENCING at the intersection of the northern limit of the Canadian National Railway right-of-way and the west boundary of the Town of Pickering in Concession 1; THENCE of the Road; easterly in a straight line along the northern limit said right-of-way to the western limit of Rosebank THENCE northerly along the western limit of Rosebank Road to the southern limit of the Ontario-Gatineau Hydro Corridor; THENCE easterly along the southern limit of the Ontario-Gat- ineau Hydro Corridor to the eastern limit of Fairport Road; THENCE southerly along the eastern limit of Fairport Road to the northern limit of Old Kingston Road; THENCE easterly along the northern limit of Old Kingston Road to the southern limit of the Canadian National Railway right- of way in Lot 26, Concession 1; THENCE easterly along the southern limit of the Canadian National Railway right-of-way to the western limit of the road allowance between Lots 24 and 25, Range 3, Broken Front Conces- sion; THENCE southerly along the western limit of the said road allow- ance to the north limit of the western sand spit separating Frenchman's Bay from Lake Ontario; THENCE easterly along the said north limit and proceeding around the easterly end of the said spit and thence westerly along the south limit of the said spit to the western limit of the road allowance between Lots 24 and 25, Range 3, Broken Front Conces- sion; - 2 - THENCE southerly in a straight line parallel to the west bound- ary of the Town to the International Boundary between Canada and the United States of America; THENCE westerly along the said International Boundary to the intersection of the west boundary of the Town; THENCE northerly along the west boundary of the northern limit of the Canadian National Railway in Concession 1o Town to the right-of-way WARD TWO The proposed boundaries of Ward Two are described as follows: COMMENCING at the port Road and the Corridor; intersection of the eastern limit of Fair- southern limit of the Ontario-Gatineau Hydro THENCE southerly along the eastern limit of Fairport Road to the northern limit of Old Kingston Road; THENCE easterly along the northern limit of Old Kingston Road to the southern limit of the Canadian National Railway right- of-way in Lot 26, Concession 1; THENCE easterly along the National Railway right-of-way road allowance between Lots 24 Concession; southern limit of the Canadian to the western limit of the and 25, Range 3, Broken Front THENCE southerly along the western limit of the said road allowance to the north limit of the western sand spit separ- ating Frenchman's Bay from Lake Ontario; THENCE easterly along the said north limit and proceeding around the easterly end of the said spit, and thence westerly along the south limit of the said spit to the western limit of the road allowance between Lots 24 and 25, Range 3, Broken Front Concession; - 3 - THENCE southerly in a straight line parallel to the west boundary of the Town to the International Boundary between Canada and the United States of America; THENCE easterly along the said International Boundary to the intersection of the east boundary of the Town; THENCE northerly along the east boundary point where the east boundary intersects of the King's Highway No. 401; of the Town to a the northern limit THENCE westerly along the northern limit of the King's High- way No. 401 to its intersection with the western limit of Liverpool Road; THENCE northerly along the western limit of Liverpool Road and the road allowance between Lots 22 and 23 to the southern limit of the Ontario-Gatineau Hydro Corridor; THENCE westerly along the said southern limit to the eastern limit of Fairport Road. WARD THREE The proposed boundaries of Ward Three are described as follows: COMMENCING at the intersection of the northern limit of the Canadian National Railway right-of-way and the west boundary of the Town of Pickering in Concession 1; THENCE easterly in a straight line along the northern limit of the said right-of-way to the western limit of Rosebank Road; THENCE northerly along the western limit of Rosebank Road to the southern limit of the Ontario-Gatineau Hydro Cor- ridor; THENCE easterly along the southern limit of the said Ontario-Gatineau Hydro Corridor to the western limit of the road allowance between Lots 22 and 23; - 4 - THENCE southerly along the western limit of the road allow- ance between Lots 22 and 23 and Liverpool Road to its intersection with the northern limit of the King's Highway No. 401; THENCE easterly along the northern limit of the King's High- way No. 401 to the east boundary of the Town; THENCE northerly along the east boundary of the Town to the north boundary of the Town; THENCE westerly along the north boundary of the Town to the west boundary of the Town; THENCE southerly along the west boundary of the Town to its intersection with the northern limit of the Canadian National Railway right-of-way in Concession 1.
