HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1661/83THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER 1661/83 Being an omnibus by-law to amend various regulatory by-laws. WHEREAS By-law 425/76 is a by-law respecting residential fences and swimming pool enclosures in the Town of Pickering; and WHEREAS by resolution passed on April 18, 1983, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering directed that By-law 425/76 be amended to delete the provision that all fences constructed prior to 1976 shall conform to the fence by-law; and WHEREAS By-law 1064/79 is a by-law to license, regulate and govern taxicab and limousine drivers, owners and brokers; and WHEREAS by resolution passed on April 5, 1983, the said Council directed that By-law 1064/79 be amended to delete the provision that a taxicab owner live in the Town of Pickering and to increase the amount of liability insurance to be held by a taxicab owner from $300,000 to $1,000,000; and WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to adopt the Ontario Fire Code; and WHEREAS By-laws 3001, 3020 and 3353 regulate the sounding of train whistles; and WHEREAS these by-laws are deemed to be redundant; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS as follows: 1. Subsection (b) of section 11 of By-law 425/76 is hereby deleted. 2. (a) Paragraphs (i) and (ii) of subsection (b) of Section 22 of By-law 1064/79 are hereby deleted. Section 23 of By-law 1064/79 is hereby amended by deleting therefrom the figure "300,000.00" and substituting therefor the figure "$1,000,000.00". 3. The Ontario Fire Code is hereby adopted. 4. By-laws 3001, 3020 and 3353 are hereby repealed. BY-LAW READ a first, second and third time and finally PASSED this 2nd day of May, 1983. Clerk /
