BY-LAW NUMBER 1617/83
Being a by-law respecting remuneration
for Members of Council.
WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of section 238.1 of the
Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980, c. 302, as amended, the council
may pass by-laws for paying remuneration to the members of
council; and
WHEREAS, by By-law C-ii, enacted January 5, 1981, the Council
of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering established the
remuneration to be paid to members of Council for the years
1981 and 1982; and
WHEREAS it is now deemed expedient to establish the remunera-
tion to be paid to members of Council for the year 1983;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering HEREBY ENACTS as follows:
The remuneration payable to the Mayor shall be
$22,890.00 per annum or $200.00 per meeting for
the period December 1, 1982 to November 30, 1983
(inclusive).
The remuneration payable to a Councillor shall
be $10,300.00 per annum or $100.00 per meeting
for the period December 1, 1982 to November 30,
1983 (inclusive).
3. This by-law shall be effective from December 1, 1982.
4. By-law Number C-ii is hereby repealed.
BY-LAW READ a first, second and third time and finally PASSED
this 24th day of January, 1983.
