HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1839/84THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NO. 1839/84 Being a by-law to stop up part of Concession 3 Road WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 298(1) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980, chapter 302, the council of any municipality may pass by-laws to stop up a highway or part thereof; and WHEREAS, it is deemed expedient to stop up a portion of Concession 3 Road near the intersection of Concession 3 Road and Scarborough Town Line Road; and WHEREAS, notice of this by-law has been published once a week for four consecutive weeks and the provisions of the Municipal Act relating to the stopping up of a high- way have been complied with NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: The lands subscribed in Schedule A attached hereto are hereby stopped up as a public highway. This by-law shaI1 not take effect until registered in the registry office for the Registry Division of Durham. BY-LAW read a first and second time this 22nd day of May, 1984. Clerk SCHEDULE A ALL AND SINGULAR that certain parcel or tract of land and premises situate, lying and being in the Town of Pickering, in the Regional Municipality of Durham and Province of Ontario, containing approximately one half of an acre, and being composed of a part of the Southwestern part of Lot 35 in the 3rd Concession described as follows: COMMENCING at the Southwest angle of Lot 35; THENCE North, along the western boundary of the said lot for a distance of 270 feet to a point; THENCE in a Southeasterly direction upon the said lot for a distance of 328 feet, more or less, in a direct line to a point in the southern limit of the said lot which is 200 feet east from the southwest angle of the lot; THENCE West, along the southern limit of the said lot for a distance of 200 feet to the point of commencement at the southwest angle of the said Lot 35; AS DESCRIBED in Instrument Number 25070.
