BY-LAW NUMBER 1801/84
Being a by-law respecting remuneration
for Member of Council.
WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of section 238.1 of the
Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980, c. 302, as amended, the council
may pass by-laws for payinq remuneration to the members of
council; and
WHEREAS, by By-law 1617/83, enacted January 24, 1983, the
Council of the Corporation of the Town of Dickering established
the remuneration to be paid to members of Council for the year
1983; and
WHEREAS it is now deemed expedient to establish the remunera-
tion to be paid to members of Council eor the year 1984;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering HEREBY ENACTS as follows:
The remuneration payable to the Mayor shall be
$24,035.00 per annum or $200.00 pe~ meeting for
the period December 1, 1983 to November 30, 1984
(inclusive).
The remuneration payable to a Councillor shall
be $10,815.00 per annum or $100.00 per meeting
for the period December 1, 1983 to November 30,
1984 (inclusive).
This by-law shall be effective from December 1,
1983.
4. By-law Number 1617/83 is hereby repealed.
BY-LAW READ a first, second and third time and finally PASSED
this 19thday of March 1984.
