HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1797/84THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NO. 1797 /84 Being a by-law to stop up part of Lot 18, Con- cession 1, Pickerlng (Plummer Street Extension). WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of section 298(1) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980, chapter 302, the council of any municipality may pass by-laws to stop up a highway or part thereof and to sell the soil and freehold of a stopped up highway or part thereof; and WHEREAS, it is deemed expedient to stop up a portion of Lot 18, Concession 1, Pickering previously dedicated by By-law 3020 for a possible extension of Plummer Street, and to sell such stopped up portion; and WHEREAS, notice of this By-law has been published once a week for four consecutive weeks and the provisions of the Municipal Act relating to the stopping up and sale of a highway have been complied with; NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: That part of a road allowance in Lot 18, Concession 1, Pickering, more particu- larly described in Schedule A attached hereto, is hereby stopped up and closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The sale of the lands described in Schedule A attached hereto, at such time and at such consideration as may be determined by Council, is hereby authorized. BY-LAW read a first and second time this 5th day of March, 1984. BY-LAW read a third time and finally passed this 2nd day of April, 1984. Clerk SCHEDULE A All and singular that certain parcel or tract of land and premises situate, lying and being in the Town of Picketing, in the Regional Municipality of Durham and Province of Ontario and being composed of that part of Lot 18, Concession 1, designated as Part 1 on a plan of survey of reference deposited in the Land Registry Office for the Registry Division of Durham (No. 40) as Plan 4OR-BOB5
