BY-LAW NO. 2517 /87
Being a by-law to amend By-law 385/76 regulating
the collection and removal by the Corporation of
ashes, garbage and other refuse.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the predecessor of section 210.83 of the Municipal Act,
R.S.O. 1980, c. 302, on April 12, 1976, the Council of The Corporation of the Town
of Picketing enacted By-law 385/76 regulating the collection and removal by the
Corporation of ashes, garbage and other refuse, which by-law was subsequently
amended by By-law 1152/80, and now requires further amendment;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 6(1)(b) of By-law 385/76 is hereby revoked and the following substitut-
ed therefor:
(b)
where practicable, it is divided into lots weighing not more than
twenty-three kilograms each.
2. Section 13 of By-law 385/76 is hereby revoked and the following substituted
therefor:

The Council of The Corporation of the Town of Pickering may
from time to time designate certain days for the collection of
specific types of material.
3. Section 15 of By-law 385/76 is hereby revoked and the following substituted
therefor:

Every person who contravenes any of the provisions of sections
2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 11 or 12, of this by-law is guilty of an offence
and upon conviction thereof is liable to a fine of not more than
$2,000, exclusive of costs.
BY-LAW read a first, second, third time and finally passed June 29, 1987.
