BY-LAW NUMBER 2495/87
Being a By-law to amend Restricted Area (Zoning)
By-law 1521/82, which amended Restricted Area
(Zoning) By-law 3036, as amended, to implement the
Official Plan of the Town of Picketing District
Planning Area, Region of Durham, in Block 22,
Plan 40M-1365, in the Town of Pickering.

WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
passed By-law 1521/82, amending By-law 3036 to permit the
development of a commercial building to occur on the subject lands
being Block 22, Plan 40M-1365, in the Town of Pickering;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering now deems it desirable to amend By-law 1521/82, to permit
professional offices to be allowed as a permitted use;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. TEXT AMENDMENT
(1) Section 4 of By-law 1521/82 is hereby amended by adding
thereto the following clause:
(ka)
"Professional Office" shall mean a building or part of
a building in which medical, legal or other
professional service is performed or consultation
given, and which may include a clinic, the offices of
an architect, a chartered accountant, an engineer, a
lawyer or a physician, but shall not include a
body-rub parlour as defined in the Municipal Act,
R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 302, as amended from time to
time, or any successor thereto.
(2) Section 5.(3)(a) of By-law 1521/82 is hereby amended by
adding thereto the following item:
(v) professional offices, subject to the provisions of
Section 5.(3)(b)(x)
(3) Section 5.(3)(b)(x) of By-law 1521/82 is hereby amended by
adding thereto the following:
and the gross floor area of all professional offices on the
lot shall not exceed 200 square metres.
