HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 2492/87THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER 2492/87 Being a by-law to amend By-law Number 2439/87 to regulate signs in the Town of Pickering Whereas pursuant to section 210.141 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980, c. 302, as amended, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering enacted By-law Number 2439/87 on April 6, 1987 to regulate signs in the Town of Pickering; and Whereas pursuant to section 210.143 of the Act, the by-law may specify a time period during which signs or other advertising devices in a defined class may stand or be displayed in the municipality and may require the removal of such signs or other advertising devices which continue to stand or be displayed after such time period has expired; and Whereas it is deemed expedient to restrict the time during which a portable sign may stand to a three month period; Now Therefore the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering hereby enacts as follows: Section 10(4) of By-law Number 2439/87 is hereby amended by adding thereto the following: (d) No portable sign shall stand longer than 90 days from the date that the sign permit is issued during any calendar year. By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this first day of June, 1987.
