HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 2472/87THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER 2472/87 Being a Zoning By-law to amend By-law 1581/83 and By-law 1696/83, which amended Restricted Area (Zoning) By-law 3036, as amended, to implement the Official Plan of the Town of Pickering District Planning Area, Region of Durham, in Part of Lots 21 and 22, Concession 1 in the Town of Pickering. (A 19/87) WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering passed By-law 1581/82 and By-law 1696/83, amending By-law 3036 to permit the expansion of an existing commercial complex with revised parking standards on the subject land; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering now deems it desirable to amend By-law 3036, as amended by By-law 1581/82 and By-law 1696/83, to reduce the parking space area and establish specific minimum dimensions, and to exempt certain storage areas from the parking requirement for the subject property; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERINQ HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. TEXT AMENDMENT (1) Subclauses (1) and (2) of clauses 12.4.2 and 12.4.4 of By-law 5036 are hereby revoked and the following substituted therefor: (1) "Parking Space" shall mean a useable and accessible area of not less than 2.6 metres in width and not less than 5.3 metres in length for the temporary parking of vehicles, but shall not include any portion of a parking aisle or driveway; (2) Parking shall be provided on the subject lands at a ratio of a minimum of 5.0 parking spaces for each 93 square metres or part thereof of gross leasable area on the subject lands with the exception of tenant storage areas located away from the tenant's primary leased area in the building. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE: This By-law takes effect from the day of passing hereof, subject to the approval of the Ontario Municipal 8oard, if required. READ A FIRST AND SECOND TIME THIS19th DAY OF May , 1987.
