BY-LAW NUMBER 2366/87
Being a By-law to designate certain highways
within the Town of Pickering as through highways
WHEREAS clause 37 of subsection 1 of section 1 of The Highway Traffic
Act, R.S.O. 1980, c.198, as amended, defines "through highways" as a
highway or part of a highway designated as such by the Minister or by
by-law of a municipality and providing that every such highway shall be
marked by a stop sign or yield right-of-way sign in compliance with the
regulations of the Ministry:
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to designate or re-designate certain
highways in the Town of Pickering as through highways;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING
HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
The highways set out in Column I of Schedule A to this by-law,
between the limits set out in Column II of the said Schedule, are,
except as provided in Section 2 of this by-law, hereby designated
as through highways.
The designation in section 1 of a highway or portion of a highway
as a "through highway" shall not include any intersection thereon
where the highway intersected is a King's Highway, a Durham
Regional Road or where traffic control signals are installed.

y-law 1174/80, 1206/80, 1292/80, 1594/82, 1641/83, 1742/83,
1904/84, 1920/84, 1956/85, 2094/85, 2113/85, 2135/86, 2152/86 and
2192/86 are hereby repealed.
This by-law shall come into force on the date that it is approved
by the Council of the Regional Municipality of Durham and when
signs to the effect are erected.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and PASSED this 2nd day
of February, 1987.
