HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 2096/85THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NO. 2096/85 Being a by-law to stop-up parts of an unnamed road allowance in Lot 23, Concession 1, Pickering as public highway (baseline road) WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of sections 298(1) and 316(1) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980, chapter 302, the council of any municipality may pass by-laws to stop-up a highway or part thereof and to authorize its sale at a fixed price; WHEREAS, notice of this by-law has been published once a week for four consecutive weeks and the provisions of the Municipal Act relating to the stopping-up of a high- way have been complied with; NOW THEREFORE, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: Those parts of Lot 23, Concession 1, Pickering, more particularly described on Schedule A attached hereto, comprising part of an unnamed road allowance established by By-law No. 471 of The Corporation of the Township of Picketing on May 30th, 1881, are hereby stopped-up and closed to vehicular and pedes- trian traffic. The conveyance of the lands described in Schedule A, attached hereto, to the abutting owners at a price fixed at the rate of $76,500 per acre is hereby authorized o 3. Schedule A attached hereto, forms part of this by-law. BY-LAW read a first and second time this 21st day of October, 1985. BY-LAW read a third time and finally passed this 25th day of November, 1985. / Bruce Taylor, ~e~ SCHEDULE A The portion of Lot 23, Concession 1, Pickering, the boundaries of which are de- scribed as follows: PREMISING that the centre line of construction as shown on Highway Plan 429 (MTC P-2310-70) has am astronomic bearing of N57°54'00"E and relating all bearings herein thereto; BEGINNING at the north-east angle of Block FZ, Plan M-16, Pickering; THEN N17°12'00"W, along the west limit of the road allowance between Lots 22 and 23, Concession 1, Picketing, 24.14 metres; THEN S48°53'00"W, along the south limit of lands owned by Canadian National Rail- ~vays, 11.84 metres; THEN S73°35'10"W, further along that south limit, 31.74 metres; THEN S62°34'40"W, further along that south limit, 30.60 metres; THEN S57°24'50"W, further along that south limit, 30.48 metres; THEN S43°55'00"W, further along that south limit to its intersection with the north limit of Bay]y Street, 31.34 metres; THEN S66°18'00"E, along that north limit, 17.48 metres; THEN N57°02'30"E 65.58 metres; THEN N70°05'30"E 53.24 metres to the point of beginning.
