BY-LAW NUMBER 2040/85
Being a by-law respecting r~uneration
for Members of Council
WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of section 238.1 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980,
c. 302, as amended, the council may pass by-laws for paying remuneration to the
m~bers of Council; and
WHEREAS, by By-law 1801/84, enacted March 19, 1984, the Council of the CorDoration of
the Town of Pickering established the r~uneration to be paid to m~bers of Council
for the year 1984; and
WHEREAS it is now deemed expedient to establish the r~uneration to be paid to members
of Council for the year 1985;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS as
follows:
The remuneration payable to the Mayor shall be $25,000.00 per ann~m~ or
$200.00 per meeting for the period December 1, 1984 to November 30, 1985
(inclusive)
The r~uneration payable to a Councillor shall be $11,250.00 per annum or
$100.00 per meeting for the period December 1, 1984 to Nov~ber 30, 1985
(inclusive)

This by-law shall be effective from December 1, 1984.
By-law Number 1801/84 is hereby repealed.
BY-LAW READ a first, second and third time and finally PASSED this 3rd day of June,
1985.
