BY-LAW NUMBER 2002/85
Being a by-law to amend By-law 1064/79 licensing,
regulating and governing taxicab and limousine
drivers, owners and brokers
Whereas pursuant to the Drovisions of paragraph 1 of section 377 of The Municipal Act,
R.SoO. 1970, c. 284, the Town of Picketing enacted by By-law 1064/79 on ~v~mber 19,
1979 to provide for the licensing, regulating and governing of taxicab and limousine
drivers, owners and brokers, and for establishing the rates and fares to be charged by
the owners or drivers of such vehicles for the conveyance of goods or passengers,
either wholly within the municipality or to any point not more than three miles beyond
its limits, and providing for collection of such rates or fares and for revoking any
such licences; and
Whereas a written request has been received to increase the rates or fares to be
charged by the owners or drivers of such vehicles;
Now Therefore the Council of the Corporation of the Town of P~ckering Hereby Enacts as
follows:
Schedule "B" of By-law 1064/79, as amended by By-la%; 1432/82, is hereby
repealed and Schedule "I" attahced hereto shall be substituted therefore.
Schedule "I" attahced hereto shall take effect upon passage of this by-law.
BY-LAW READ a first, second and third time and finally PASSED this 15th day of April,
1985.

TARIFF OF RATES AND FARES

For the first 1/9 kilometre or part thereof

Passengers - for each passenger in excess of
four (4)
Trunks - for each trunk exceeding 0.1 cubic Metres
Luggage - for each piece not carried by passenger
inside vehicle.
C. NOTES
Maximum total charge under B.1, 2 and 3 shall not
exceed $0.60 for any trip.
No charge is claimable or payable for the carriage of
a wheel chair accompanying a handicapped person.
LIMOUSINE CHARGES
For local service, the rates shall be $20.00 per hour.
