HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 2343/86THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER 234~86 Being a by-law to amend By-law Number 1560/82 which provides for the licensing, registration and regulation of dogs, and for the determination of the compensation to be allowed for impounding, distraining and detaining of dogs. Whereas Council enacted By-law Number 1560/82 on September 20, 1982 to provide for the licensing, registration and regulation of dogs and for the determination of the compensation to be allowed for impounding, distraining and detaining of dogs; and Whereas it is deemed expedient to amend that By-law to restrict the number of dogs that may be owned or kept in or about a dwelling unit to two; Now Therefore the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering hereby enacts as follows: 1. Section ll of By-law Number 1560/82 is hereby deleted and the following is substituted therefor: ll. No person, being an owner, tenant or occupant of a dwelling unit, shall, knowingly or not knowingly, keep own or harbour, or permit to be kept, owned or harboured, more than two (2) dogs in or about that dwelling unit.
