Pursuant to Part VI.1 of the Municipal Act, 2001
August 14, 2023
Direction to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and the Director, Finance &
Treasurer pertaining to the 2024 City of Pickering Budget
In accordance with subsections 284.3 and 284.16 of the Municipal Act, 2001 (the “Act”),
the Mayor hereby directs the CAO and the Director, Finance & Treasurer to:
1. Prepare a draft City of Pickering 2024 Current and Capital Budget (including a
nine-year Capital Forecast) in accordance with the requirements of the Act;
2. That the CAO and the Director, Finance & Treasurer provide the Mayor with
periodic updates on the 2024 draft Budget in order that those discussions may
inform the budget; and,
3. That the proposed draft Budget be provided to each Member of Council, the City
Clerk, and the public no later than January 30, 2024.
This Direction takes effect on August 14, 2023 and remains in effect unless and until it
is revoked in writing by the Mayor.
