BY-LAW NO. 3578,~0
Being a by-law to authorize the acquisition of Part Lot
17, Broken Front Concession, Pickering (Parts 1-3, Plan
40R-12330% for road purposes.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of an Agreement dated April 26, 1974, Ontario Hydro is obliged
to convey to The Corporation of the Town of Picketing a replacement road for that part of Brock Road
closed and conveyed to Ontario Hydro for the extension of the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station;
and
WHEREAS Ontario Hydro,
(a) is prepared to convey to the Town that part of Lot 17, Broken Front Concession,
Picketing, designated as Parts 1 and 2, Plan 40R-12330; and
(b) has arranged with Her Majesty the Queen in right of Ontario as represented by the
Minister of the Environment for the conveyance to the Town of that part of Lot 17,
Broken Front Concession, Picketing, designated as Part 3, Plan 40R-12330,
for the purpose of satisfying that obligation; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of section 193 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980, chapter 302,
the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Picketing may pass by-laws for acquiring interests in
lands for municipal purposes;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
I. The Corporation of the Town of Picketing shall acquire from Ontario Hydro that part of Lot 17,
Broken Front Concession, Picketing, designated as Parts 1 and 2, Plan 40R-12330, for
municipal purposes, namely a municipal road.
2. The Corporation of the Town of Picketing shall acquire from Her Majesty the Queen in right of
Ontario as represented by the Minister of the Environment that part of Lot 17, Broken Front
Concession, Pickering, designated as Part 3, Plan 40R-12330, for municipal purposes, namely a
municipal road.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 5th day of November, 1990.
