BY-LAW NUMBER 3541/90
Being a by-law to amend By-law 1008/79
respecting remuneration and expenses for
members of Council and Council-appointed
members of certain local boards and
expenses for Town employees
WHEREAS on June 18, 1979, pursuant to the provisions of the predecessors
of sections 238,239,240 and 241 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980, c.
302, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering enacted
By-law 1008/79 providing for the payment of remuneration and expenses to
its members and to its appointees to local boards and other bodies and
of expenses to Town employees; and
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to amend certain provisions thereof;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING
HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Part 2 of Schedule "C" to By-law 1008/79, as amended, is hereby
revoked and the following substituted therefor:
PART 2 - TRAVEL EXPENSE - PRIVATE AUTOMOBILE
Expense Amount Payable
For distance necessarily travelled by
private automobile,
(i) by a member of Council for the
purpose of attending meetings as
an authorized representative of
Council (except meetings of the
council of the Regional Munici-
pality of Durham or of any
con~nittee or local board thereof)
and
(ii) by a Town employee on business
of the Town: $0.29 per kilometre
2. By-law 3173/89 is hereby repealed.
BY-LAW READ a first, second and third time and PASSED this 17th day of
September, 1990.
