BY-LAW NUMBER 3413/90
Being a by-law to amend By-law Number
2538/87 to establish and operate an
Elderly Persons' Centre
Whereas the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing
enacted By-law Number 2538/87 on June 29, 1987 to establish and
operate an Elderly Persons' Centre;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Sections 1 and 2 of By-law Number 2538/87 are hereby deleted and
the following substituted therefor:
1. The facility more particularly described in Schedule "A"
attached hereto be established and operated by the
Corporation of the Town of Pickering in accordance with the
Elderly Persons Centres Act, R.S.O. 1980, c. 131.
2. That the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering may acquire by purchase, lease or otherwise real
and personal property for the purpose of establishing and
operating the said centre, may enter into any agreements
with other approved corporations with respect to the
operation of the said Centre, and is authorized to make
such expenditures as are necessary for these purposes.
2. By-law Number 2538/87 is hereby amended by adding thereto the
following sections:
3. That the Mayor and Clerk be and they are hereby authorized
to execute all documents necessary to give effect thereto.
4. This by-law shall come into force and take effect upon the
approval of the Minister of Community and Social Services
for the Province of Ontario, given pursuant to the Elderly
Persons Centres Act.
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this
5th day of March, 1990.
