A By-law to confirm the proceedings of the Council of The
Corporation of the City of Pickering at its Meeting
of February22, 2021
Whereas pursuant to Section 5(1) of the Municipal Act, 2001,.S.O. 2001, c. M.25,
as amended, the powers of a municipality shall be exercised by.its council; and
Whereas pursuant to Section 5(3) ofthe said Act, a municipal power, including a
municipality's capacity, rights, powers and privileges under Section 8 of the said
. Act, shall be exercised by by-law unless the municipality is specifically authorized
to dq otherwise; and
Whereas it is deemed expedient that the proceedings of the Council of The
Corporation of the City of Pickering at this rneeting be confirmed and adopted by.
By-law;
Now Therefore the Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering enacts as
follows:
1. The actions of the Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering at its
Meeting of February 22, 2021 in respect of each recommendation
contained in the Reports of the Committees and each motion and
resolution passed and other action taken by the Council of The ,
Corporation of the City of Pickering at this meeting, is hereby adopted and
confirmed as if all such proceedings were expressly embodied in this By-
law· ·

2. The Mayor and proper officials of The Corporation of the City of Pickering
are hereby authori.zed and directed.to do all things necessary to give
effect to the action of the Council of The Corporation of the City of
Pickering referred to in the preceding section hereof;
3. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute all
documents necessary in that behalf and to affix thereto the Seal of The
Corporation of the City of Pickering.
